Super Mario RPG Soundtrack Vinyl & Box Set
I never thought I'd see the day... We are actually getting a Super Mario title release on vinyl! Now, It's not the original SNES OST. It's the soundtrack to the 2023 remake(although the description states: *Disc3 <Geno Side>, Track 37 ‘Long Long Ago...’ is the same original recording as the Super Nintendo Entertainment System version.). It's been a little while since I've listened through the remake's soundtrack—probably since it's release. Though I enjoyed it, I honestly prefer the authentic raspy sound of the 1996 original. I still think it's some of Yoko Shimomura's best work(with unique time signatures) and one of the memorable Super Mario Scores ever released. To this day I still hum the various Boss Battles, Booster's Tower, Farewell Geno, ect. I'm humming tunes now just typing about it... But I digress.

There is also a Sound Box Set available alongside the 4LP Viny which include both the original 1996 and the 2023 remake original soundtracks. For those of us that have always wanted a physical copy of the SNES Super Mario RPG Soundtrack, this is a dream come true. I haven't looked recently but the out-of-print 1996 release typically goes for $500 USED on ebay; slightly out of my price range. So to see this, gives me hope that Nintendo will eventually work on re-issuing some of their long sold-out soundtracks that currently go for hundred on auction sites.

Lastly, the 2023 Super Mario RPG: Remake Original Soundtrack is also available on it's own as a Two-Disc set from the online retailers listed above if your in the market for that one.
